School Concerts
Bring the full experience of The Philadelphia Orchestra to your students with a program designed to integrate musical concepts and activities into your existing classroom curriculum. Enhance your students’ learning through the understanding and appreciation of orchestral music. To get the most value, use our curriculum guide to supplement your preparation, participate in a course for teacher professional development, and schedule a visit with one of our knowledgeable Docent volunteers at no extra charge. Philadelphia Orchestra School Concerts have been commended by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a model program in alignment with the state’s Standards Aligned System.

Billy Joel School Concert Program
Established in 2008 with a donation from legendary singer-songwriter and composer Billy Joel, the Billy Joel Fund for Music Education is specifically earmarked to expand and improve music education in the School District of Philadelphia.
Side-by-Side Rehearsal
Each year The Philadelphia Orchestra selects one youth orchestra to sit side-by-side with our world-renowned musicians in a rehearsal of quality orchestral literature led by a skilled conductor.
